In the episode they mention the song “I’ve Got a Pocket Full of Dreams”, the columnist Jimmie Fidler, and an ice skating carnival called “The Ice Follies”.

Jack Catches a Cold

December 1, 1940 – This is a great follow-up to the previous episode! Jack Benny had suggested to Don that he call his wife before inviting company over, so Don leaves jack in the bushes in front of his house. While waiting to be let in Jack gets rained non and mugged.

In this episode they mention the Vapour Rub, a cigar humidor and a number of singing movie stars: Anne Sheridan, Dorothy Lamour, Maryt Martin and the singing cowboy Gene Autry.
